The Ta Das Choir

‘Take a drink and sing' - wine is integral to our singing, as is the fine company of friends.
Started just over 4 years ago in April 2022 and based in Mortimer, the Ta-das are maturing nicely together to create a distinctive vintage: cool and crisp like a good chablis; fresh and fruity like a Pinot and bubbly and elegant like fine champagne. We sing an eclectic mixture of songs and we are an eclectic group of women who could probably - if given the chance - run a small country with the array of talents in the room. But it is singing that brings us together - not world domination. Not yet anyway.

Are children allowed?

Yes. Teens (13-17) and Under-13s can attend the festival but are not allowed to consume alcohol.

Please note that Teens (13-17) and under-13s’ will only be admitted when accompanied by an adult, aged 25 or over, who is responsible for them at all times.

Teens (13-17) and Under-13s will be issued with a wristband, identifying their restricted access. For younger children, parents are encouraged to write emergency contact details on the child's wristband to facilitate quick reunification if the child gets lost.

Is there a Fairground?

Yes. There is a fairground for the Under-13s.

Can you bring your own alcohol?

No alcohol is to be brought on to the site. Due to licensing laws, it will be taken from you or you will be asked to leave the site. We have bars and catering throughout the festival site where over-18s can purchase alcohol.

Do you allow dogs on site?

We are dog friendly but please keep them on leads at all times, respect others, clean up and look after your pets.

Is it safe and secure?

  • We have a fully SIA-approved security team and medical first-aiders on-site.
  • The event is approved by the Police, Council and Fire officers.
  • The event is operated in accordance with our Safeguarding Policy.
  • The Burghfield Santas work with West Berkshire Council, as the Licensing Authority, to ensure all required measures are adopted.

Subject to Change?

The festival programme is subject to change without notice. The organisers accept no responsibility if, for example, an act fails to attend or a particular beer or cider is not available. If the event has to be canceled, all monies paid for advance tickets and beer tokens will be fully refunded by our ticketing partner, Ticket Source.

Liability for Damage/Loss/Injuries?

The organisers do not accept liability for personal damages, losses or injuries sustained at this event - including damage and losses to property and motor vehicles.

How Can I Help?

Burghfest would not be possible without the support of our volunteers. We  have roles suitable for everyone1 including bar-staff, ambassadors, ticket desk staff and set-up/tear-down crew. To make sure we get the coverage we need and to also ensure the volunteers get to enjoy the festival, staffing is allocated in 4-hour shifts. All volunteers receive a meal voucher, drink tokens and free admission on the day(s) of their shift(s) but more importantly have great fun and the satisfaction of giving back to the local community. If you are a local community group that can provide volunteers, and in return raise money for your organisation, check out the Burghfield Santa’s Affiliate programme. 1Volunteers under 18 must have written parental consent to participate in the event.
